Title : Varietal Susceptibility of Okra [Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench] Against Shoot and Fruit Borer

Abstract :

Eleven varieties of okra were screened and none of the variety was found completely free from the attack of shoot and fruit borer. On the basis of shoot damage, the varieties, Versha Uphar and Arka Anamika were ranked as least susceptible. The varieties Hisar Naveen, Hisar Unnat, Arka Abhay, Pusa Makhamali, Aprajita, Kashi Mohini and Parbhani Kranti, ranked as moderately susceptible, while Sagun and Pusa Sawani were ranked as highly susceptible against shoot borer. On number and weight basis of fruit, the varieties Varsha Uphar and Arka Anamika were rated as least susceptible, Hisar Naveen, Hisar Unnat, Pusa Makhamali, Arka Abhay, Aprajita, Kashi Mohini, Parbhani Kranti as moderately susceptible, whereas, Sagun and Pusa Sawani as highly susceptible against fruit borer.
